Sneak Peek at "You're Still Mine!"

Read on for a sampling of "You're Still Mine!"

They talked until just before midnight,
when Meg checked her watch and stood
up, embarrassed that she'd stayed so late.
Cam assured her he was self-employed
and would not be punching a time clock in
the morning.

He drove her home and walked her to her
door, even though Meg insisted it wasn't

"LOOK BEHIND YOU" (Book 3, 'Safe In His Arms' series)

Dear readers,

It is with great pleasure that I introduce the young girl on the cover of my upcoming novel, "LOOK BEHIND YOU."  She is my beautiful niece, Mel (Mélanie) St-Jean.

When starting a new novel, for some reason, I always like to have a cover ready to go by the time I'm about halfway through writing the book.  I guess by that point I pretty well know where the story is headed and have a need to match the cover to the plot.

It's been difficult for me to get back to writing this week.  Our beautiful dog, Peanut, passed this week, and feeling as sad as I do, I could not seem to get back to my work.

This morning, however, I've decided to get some serious work done.  The novel I'm currently

To Blog Or Not To Blog?

As a relatively new author, I find myself torn between focusing one hundred percent of my energy on my writing (I'm working on my fourth novel), or spending part of that time on blogging.

I've read numerous articles online about the advantages of blogging in 'getting yourself out there,' but isn't focusing on my writing just as important?  Doesn't the novel itself get the job done?

I don't know about you, but I am now finding myself thinking about blog articles while I'm working on my novel, and feeling guilty about not writing when I'm working on my blog!  Is this the true definition of insanity?

How do you divide your time between writing and blogging...and, of course, life in general?  Do writers ever find a more realistic balance?

I invite you to share your ideas, comments, funny stories with the rest of us.  Trust me, I need a good laugh right about now!  Well, back to my novel!

Good news!  For our Canadian readers, the paperback version of my novels are now available on Amazon's Canadian site.  The U.S. exchange is factored into the price (an increase of a couple dollars,) but cuts down on the cost of having the book shipped from the U.S..

And if you are subscribed to Amazon Prime, then shipping is free!

Hope you'll stop by and pick up a copy at:  http://www.amazon.ca

Frustrated with Google's Book Sales!

I don't know about you, but as a new author, my books have been selling relatively well on Amazon, Draft2Digital and somewhat less frequently on Smashwords.  Google, however, is a bust for me.  I don't know why and thought I'd try and find out.  While researching this, I came upon a great (though lengthy) article by Joel Friedlander about the pros and cons of trying to sell your books on GooglePlay.  In my opinion, this article is definitely worth reading.  If you have something to add, please leave us your comments;  we'd love to hear from you.

Selling Ebooks on Google Play: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

by Joel Friedlander

The official name for interested authors is the Google Books Partner Program. It launched in Dec. 2010 as Google Editions, then became Google Ebooks, then got engulfed in the massive Android supermarket known as Google Play. How would I describe the experience of uploading and selling ebooks there? It reminds me of a movie title: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.

Welcome to BookMe1956!

Welcome to my blog!  I am hoping this will become a place where anyone who loves to read, or write books, or just has an opinion, will stop by to share, learn and hopefully enjoy a laugh once in a while!

My name is Lise Guilbault.  I am a 59-year-old wife, mother and grandmother who, since retiring in 2010, has written three novels.  My genre of choice, as an author, is romantic suspense thrillers.

My very first novel was "Incomplete Delusion."  I'm proud of this one for a couple of reasons.  Of course, being my first, my 'baby,' it means that much more to me, but also, the cover was designed by my talented, artistic daughter, Nathalie.  The story revolves
