Every once in a while...

Hello friends,

I hope you're enjoying your Saturday thus far.  This year, my husband and I are hosting Christmas dinner and will be receiving 18 guests.  I love to cook, so that's not a hardship.  It's all the other stuff that gets to be a bit much, i.e. the gift shopping, list-making, detail-sorting.

Yesterday, I finished my place cards.  My husband kindly cut out the wooden holders and wooden 'cards.'  We then painted the holders green, and the place cards light buttermilk.  As a finishing touch,
I decorated each one with glitzy Christmas trees and other stickers.  Nothing fancy, but it will serve the purpose. Here is a picture of one of the holders (they're all decorated differently)...

What are you planning over the holidays?  Do you celebrate Christmas or any other holiday?  What are your traditions?  Care to share a recipe?

I would like to end this post with a smile.  Here is a cute story I read on Facebook this week and wanted to share with you.  For those of you who don't know, Colonel Sanders is the founder of the KFC (or Kentucky Fried Chicken) fast food chain here in North America:

Enjoy your weekend, and read a book!
